Who's lying? Not me.

It might be purely the fact that I have been procrastinating my uni assignment, or it may have to do with the fact TV After Dark asked me to check out this show, but I am totally and completely hooked on The Lying Game.

I don't completely understand the addiction, I will confess.

But, I am addicted nonetheless, and here's my review of Season 1 Episode 9. Maybe I can get you addicted too ;)

Sex, Lies and Hard Knocks High.

Well, the name alone is interesting lol. And the episode certainly did not disappoint!

We start with Sutton (posing as Emma) in the car with Lexi. That Lexi can talk! But I love her, she's adorable. And so smart! I hope she comes back in a later episode. But Sutton, you are a terrible actor. Lexi would have been completely daft to realise you weren't Emma, especially considering you didn't even TRY to be her. Just saying.

Cut to an adorable scene with Ethan and Emma. Naw, these two are adorable little lovebirds.

Ethan: "Are you apologising for coming onto me, or the fact that you were drunk when you did it?"

Emma: "C'mon, no girl wants to be a drooling idiot when it's her first time." Cue the awkward moment! I had this huge grin on my face when Emma went on that little spiel about yoghurt and pretzels. Because that's exactly how we'd change the topic from still having our V plates...

Moving on.

Ted and Alec are douchebags. I'm not sure why yet, but my guess is that one of them got Annie preggers, and they have covered it up somehow. Why she's in a mental hospital is still beyond me. And speaking of Annie - HELLO! I'm so shocked that Annie is Char's aunt?! WOW! So who's the uncle? I am ridiculously curious.

We move to a scene back in Sutton's bedroom, where Ethan and Emma are chatting about the newly overheard conversation between Ted and Kristin. Ethan, you are so very wonderfully supportive, asking Emma if that's 'what she wants'. I think he's right though, asking Alec is a dumb idea Emma. He's been hiding this for 16 years, he ain't gonna cough up answers now.

So now we find ourselves in Lexi's house, and Sutton is shocked (to put it mildly) to see how she lives (cleaning that glass? The not-so-subtle facial expressions? You ain't subtle hunny).

My FAVOURITE part in the entire episode is when Lexi's mum says, "Are you hungry Emma? Do you want some mac 'n' cheese?" and Sutton turns around and goes "Oh! That would be fantastic thank you!" and mum says "Milk and butter is in the fridge. Knock yourself out, I'm going to take a bath." AHA! Take that Sutton! She has probably never cooked mac 'n cheese in her life. (I have so much more respect for Emma after this episode, I swear).

I also love that they keep their savings in a jar on the kitchen counter. Perhaps the best hiding spot is the most obvious one? Maybe?

Anyway, jump back to Emma looking all sweet in a navy and white dress and gorgeous gold necklace. Dinner with Alec is sure to be awkward though. Thayer looks nice for his meeting with the investors though - love a man in a suit, phew.

:O Shock! Annie has escaped! But to where? We know she'd want to bail from that hospital, but where is she going to go? Mystery!

"Kinda figured she might turn out to be an entitled little bitch." Thank you Lexi! Way to put it out there. Sutton, you are a bit mean. Am I alone in this? But I will give it to her, the bitch-side was perfect for her rant at Clarice. So glad Clarice's license was revoked, she IS a terrible person. You tell her Sutton!

We jump back to Thayer's meeting, and cue Derek and Char. 10 day anniversary? Oh, to be 16 again. Can't get over the fact Alec made Derek break up with Char. I will give it to Adrian Pasdar though, he makes an excellent bad guy. Not very clever but, dragging Derek away from Char right in front of Emma JUST AFTER she was asking him about lying. Oh well, suppose we need Emma to keep seeing Alec as 'questionable'.

Now we come to another super awkward moment.

CONDOM PACKET ALERT.

If I were Laurel, I would have no idea what to say in that situation. But girl, you have all the right things to say. Way to make mum think. It is your life, despite mum wanting otherwise.

Alexandra Chando was ADORABLE flipping through all of Emma's clothes and looking for a suitable outfit. And then making that dress out of the mother of all ugly dresses! Love it. What a cutie.

Rocking up to Emma's high school as though she owns the place, Sutton certainly makes an impression with the 'in' crowd - a group of hunky men who invite her to come gamble with them. I'm not sure about everyone else, but I don't think 16-year-olds should be gambling. My humble personal opinion.

Cue back to Derek and Char - the break up. Aw, my heart broke. Char with her "You can't. I'm Char Chamberlin." Why would anyone want to break up with any character Kirsten Prout plays is beyond me. She is gorgeous. Well, I'm with Emma, I don't know why Alec would want to break Derek and Char up. He's been the obedient puppy; I'm not sure what Alec's motives were there. Power? Control? Perhaps.

Mum and Dad Mercer are having a chat about being honest with Sutton. Either Mum is lying and actually knows more about Annie than she is saying, orr she really is in the dark, and has no idea about her daughter having a twin. I hope Emma wiggles it out of her somehow; I would definitely try, being as frustrated as Emma looked after Mum denied saying anything at all.

As hard as I try, I truly can't hate Sutton. Working her 'magic' on Lexi - pulling her away from studying, dolling her up in a rockin' outfit, and taking her to a party where she manages to lose all her money, but coddle up to hot-guy and get all the money back - yep, that girl could rule the world.

Now we come to 'the phone call'. I am still miffed at this. Why is Mum Chamberlin all crazy? She obviously knows the entire story, but is chicken enough not to do anything about it. Weird.

Another adorable Ethan and Emma moment :) I don't think he finds just your optimism amazing Emma, I think he finds YOU amazing. Naw cuties.

Justin makes talking to dads about stealing their daughter's virginity soo easy. A little too easy perhaps? I would be shaking in my boots. I guess calling dad 'my role model' would help sweeten the pot. Kudos to you Justin.

Alright, ease up Emma. We know you're mad, but it ain't Laurel's fault. Blame mamma and poppa first. Glad that Laurel was able to have a chat with mamma though and make things right. Wish I could be that open with my mum about losing my V plates. I totally admire Laurel for being that open. You go girl.

Cut to Emma chilling on Sutton's bed looking at photos from the past few weeks. Enter Mum Mercer, and the lies still seem to keep coming. Can't pick whether mum is innocent in all this, or just as guilty as Ted. We shall see.

More adorable Ethan and Emma moments! Ethan would be an amazing boyfriend. He punches dickheads unconscious, knows all the right things to say, AND has a gorgeous body and face to boot - Team Ethan yum yum yum here we come!

I do understand why Emma wants to protect Sutton's family. They have become her little world, and she's becoming a 'better' version of Sutton, dare I say? The idea that it's all going to blow up next week kinda makes me sad. I like Emma being Sutton. Sigh. Anyway.

So Char tells Madeline that Annie rang their house, while Derek eavesdrops. I love Derek's goofy facial expressions. He is a really terrible spy though.

Mum and Dad Mercer talking about Birth Mum again. I'm not happy with Ted. I agree with Justin, I don't think he's as nice as everyone thinks. Whatever happened with Annie, it warrants keeping everybody, including his wife, in the dark.

Uh, no Alec, you don't get to decide who Derek dates. He has that leverage on you, and kudos to him for using it. Go Derek! You get the girl back!

I loooovveee that Lexi knew Sutton wasn't Emma! What a gem! Now that's a true best friend. I always did wonder how two people were able to switch places and fool absolutely EVERYONE.

[Mental note to self: If I ever notice my best friend/brother/boyfriend acting typically out-of-character, I will quiz them until I know they're not an imposter]

And now - final moments! Emma snatches the letter for Mum Mercer away (just in time!) though it may all go to hell next week anyway. Justin tells Laurel he knows something's up with Daddy Mercer. Sutton leaves for Phoenix, and Lexi is amazing about it. I wonder if Sutton will destroy Emma's life once she gets back.. and I guess we'll find out... NEXT WEEK!

And our last moment is with Ethan and Emma.

"Wherever you go Emma, I'm coming with you."

This made my heart pound. What a sweetheart! I think I'm in love with Ethan, no joke. Nobody is that nice, NOBODY. Anywho.

Revenge and Ringer: sexy and sophisticated.

Also devilishly complex and intricate.

I am highly impressed by two shows that granted, I was not particularly interested in at all when I saw their fall promos.

How wrong I was.

Um, all these smokin', smart, leading ladies? Bloody BRILLIANT. It is so refreshing to see women in the roles were traditionally males were the lead. On a side note: another show you should watch (if you're all into the power of women) is Fringe. Anna Torv plays the gorgeous and brilliant FBI agent Olivia Denham - and she certainly does not disappoint in the women-can-do-anything department.

Anyway, back to Ringer and Revenge.

I have to give it to them - these shows know how to suck you in. Revenge especially. How about I start there :)

What makes Revenge so appealing.

• Emily VanCamp plays Amanda Clarke and her alias Emily Thorne. And what a convincing job she does too. The fact that she lost her father because he was framed and then convicted and then died only enhances her character. As Emily, she is sweet, mysterious and somewhat reminiscent of a sly cat. Her poker face is what drew me in at first - and then the way she would flip so suddenly to her alter persona, Amanda. Cold, hard, and vengeful, with little flickers of sadness and remorse, is the best way I can describe the Amanda underneath the mask. Riveting. I love it.

• Victoria Grayson, played by Madeleine Stowe, is the wicked mother-in-law with a soul. Yes, I know, she's not the actual mother-in-law, but that's how her character is played. She is bitter against the world; mostly because of her cheating, lying husband, but also because she lost the one man she truly loved - David Clarke. You get a sense that she hides behind her money and expensive taste, all the while mourning for a life lost. Yet at the same time, she is fiercely protective of her son, and deeply suspicious of everyone around her. Especially Emily - and rightly so. Good work mummy dearest.

• Jack Porter, beautifully played by Nick Wechsler, is the childhood friend. He seems like the one genuine character in the entire show; thus you feel sad for him when he has to sell his boat to save his dad's floundering business. And then his dad dies, so things are becoming even more tough. But still, there is a definite air about him - an air that draws Amanda back in and helps pull some of the 'Emily' facade away.

• The other character I love is Nolan Ross, acted out by Gabriel Mann. I've never seen Mann in anything before but I like him. He is mischievous and a little suave - I especially like the tailored suits and shaggy blonde hair. He aims to help Amanda with her quest for revenge, all the while trying to pull her back out of her facade too.

• The last character I like is Danny Grayson, played by Joshua Bowman. Besides being a bit of eye candy, he is the lost puppy, searching for his way in the world and trying to leave behind bad mistakes. I like him because he strikes me as honest, and I think in a show like this you need a couple of honest characters to keep from drowning in dishonesty. I do hope his 'death' at the start wasn't real; however I'm sure if he does die it'll be for a really intriguing reason.

Key moments in the first 3 episodes.

• Sammy the dog remembers: I'm not sure what it is about dogs remembering their owners, but I always find the concept ridiculously appealing. It is classic but super sweet.

• Declan [aka Eric from Gossip Girl]: Seeing Connor Paolo in this show made my heart skip a beat. I LOVE Eric in GG, and it was sad when they shipped his character to minimal appearances. He is definitely likable as the stubborn younger brother who 'just wants to fit in with the upper crowd'.

• The boat named 'Amanda': Did anyone else think this was rather charming? I wonder what kind of an impression Amanda made on Jack. Obviously something rather large since he named his prized boat after her.

• Bitch Victoria taking down Slut Lydia: Highlight of my WEEK. That take-down was priceless, and Gossip Girl-worthy. At a charity function? Giving away the painting from their living room as a reminder of her affair and shunning from high society? Impressive, needless to say.

• The flashbacks: I always love a good flashback. These are good because they give you a bit of the background story, without giving away too much. It helps tie the 'revenge act' together at the end, because you understand why she picked this person to take down. My only hope is that they don't OVERDO the flashbacks - I like a little mystery to keep my day interesting.

• The side stories: I like that it isn't just about Amanda's revenge and the plot around her dad - it's also Jack's story, and Victoria's, and a little bit of Danny's. I hope they continue to expand on the other character's histories, rather than just focus on Amanda's - though hers IS fascinating.

• Cupcake scene at the end of ep 2: Amanda sitting there, lighting one candle on a delicious-looking cupcake, blowing out the candle and wishing herself a 'happy birthday'? Love it. Excellent scene, and way to end the episode.

• The take-down of the Senator in ep 3: The red-dress lady? The changed script? Exquisiteness played out. It was an excellent act of revenge. My favourite thus far.

• One final note - the CLOTHES: Gosh. I'd die wearing all those amazing outfits! Dresses especially. I love how when TV shows demonstrate the rich, they really do go upper class.

Overall, I really like Revenge so far. I'm not sure how they will go after the first season - but hey, it's early yet. I don't want to get ahead of myself :) If you haven't watched it yet, you should. It's definitely worth a night of staying-in.

I'll just make a couple of pointers about Ringer, because there's not as much going on - yet.

Ringer - Sarah Michelle Gellar is back.

• Well. That just about says it all I think. Haha no, I am really proud of SMG for going in a very untypical direction for her. She plays twin sisters Bridget Kelly and Siobhan Martin, who at first, seem to be able to forgive each other for whatever monstrosity hides in their past - but takes a quick turn when Siobhan leaves Bridget in the middle of the ocean in her boat, and leads her to believe that she is dead. Bridget, on the run from the police because she witnessed a murder and doesn't want to stand trial against the killer, takes on Siobhan's identity and assumes her life. Truthfully, I think it was the story-line that drew me in more so than anything else. We see actors play twins and identical doppelgangers(Oh, Elena<3) all the time, but never do we see one twin that takes over the other twin's life, all the while the other twin is sipping martini's in Paris on some mission of her own. Fascinating!

Some side notes.

• The drama: Oh, the drama! All the affairs and secrets! One nearly dies trying to keep up with it all. But it is ridiculously good.

• I am sad for Andrew: I really like Siobhan's husband, and she was cheating on him with her best friend's husband. Firstly - what a bitch. Who does that? Horrible, selfish woman. And Andrew seems so lovely! But I have a feeling there might be some hidden skeletons in his closet. Just will have to wait and see.

• Gemma - the ultimate best friend: This woman is awesome. She does absolutely everything for Siobhan, and the woman repays her by sleeping with her hubby. Oh, and getting pregnant with his baby. NOT COOL SIOBHAN.

• The twist that threw everything off: When you find out Siobhan is working with someone who is still at 'home' and you can't think who it would be. Why are they upset Bridget is still alive? What's the deal there? Mystery.

And I think you've all probably had enough now :) They're just a few random thoughts and descriptions of these two awesome shows. You should go ahead and watch them now. Go! Go! *shoos you to your television*

Disturbing behaviour indeed.

Well.

I am at a loss.

Exciting? Surprising? Amazing? Epic? Awesome? Enticing? Delicious? Thrilling? Fabulous? Shocking? Confusing? Incredible?

I can't decide which describes this episode best. And, if it's possible, I actually think this episode was better than last week's.

Now now. Before you throw pitchforks at me, let me throw my thoughts your way.

Firstly, cute moments.

Damon and Elena [kitchen scene]: Oh, how cute were they. Playful punches, bantering over the 'old family recipe' for chili. And then Damon lingering just a tiny bit too long on Elena's neck when he grabbed the necklace. I swear, I LIVE for these Delena moments.

Tyler and Caroline [bedroom scene]: While the passion was interrupted, I loved the little kiss on the head and the "You reek!" spiel. Those two would make charming children (Hmm. I wonder if that actually IS in the works, as Julie Plec teased. I wouldn't mind at all. Thoughts anyone?)

Klaus, Stefan and Bex [shopping scene]: Klaus: "Nice one, good work." Stefan: "You're the one who pulled the dagger out of her." Naw, I love Klefan. Joseph and Paul must have such a good time on set, the two have incredible chemistry, even as blood-thirsty vampire and hybrid.

Katherine and Stefan [the sidewalk scene]: Stefan: "Well if the most diabolical woman I know can't seem to figure it out, then I must be doing something right." Katherine: "Uh huh, oh I forgot. You're bad now. Don't get too cocky." and her :"And I've heard about that sister. Be careful, she'll ruin you." Stefan: "Happy to know you still care." I love these two. I love Katherine. I want her in more episodes. I know in the books she dies, I seriously hope that doesn't happen in the TV show. Like, ever.

Jeremy and Anna [bedroom 'Tell me you can hear me!' scene]: It was super sad when Anna cried at the end, let me just say. But the "You were dreaming about me?" - gorgeous. Surprisingly enough, I am getting into the ghost storyline. I think it might have to do with the fact Malese Jow is as cute as a button. I just want to pick that girl up and give her a hug. Superb job, thank you for your entrancing performance. Team Anna woo!

Jeremy and Bonnie [the hug]: Anna ruined it, yeah, but any time a boy picks up a girl for a hug - delightful.

Weird moments.

Bill Forbes and his tolerance to mind compulsion. Umm, wtf? What is up with that? I cannot work out what his deal is. Suggestions and ideas anyone? I'm all ears.

The kiss between Bex and Stefan. Is it just me, or was it annoying more than anything? I don't know why, but I didn't like it.

Vicki. Well, the references to Vicki. I don't really understand what's going on there, or the whole 'bad ju ju' thing Anna seems to 'feel'. Smeh, we'll find out. All in good time, my lovelies.

The witch wanting the talisman. What does that little necklace DO exactly? The fact she strapped Stefan to a table to cut the knowledge out of him must mean it's pretty damn important. Can't wait to find out.

Favourite moments.

Katherine showing up as Elena (yet again) and taking Damon on a road trip. Firstly, can you say 'bad timing'? Stefan and Klaus rocking up in Mystic Falls just as Damon decides to run off with Katherine? How frustrating! BUT I can't wait to see more Datherine scenes. (P.S. How did Bonnie not know that was Katherine? Seriously girl! You're a witch! Focus!)

Caroline's comments about 'Switching Salvatore's'. Good on you Caroline. Elena needs to face up to these feelings. But I definitely understand why she won't - she doesn't want to be Katherine. AND she still loves Stefan, despite the cries from the Delena fans. Ease up chickens, it'll happen, just enjoy the ride.

Alaric telling Damon off. Ric the legend. And his man-power at the end? Wanting to join the council? Good work Alaric. You totes deserve to be on that council, now that you've cleaned up your drinking act. New Elena/Jeremy daddy? I like the idea!

Klaus, Stefan and Bex drinking the people together. I love the 'brat' teasing. And I love this threesome. Stefan would have made the perfect original, just saying.

Caroline kicking Damon's ass. What a cute ass it is.... ahem. No but 'Go Caroline' :D I LOVE seeing her in the 'tough girl' role, rather than the victim. And the fact that she went to Tyler for comfort doesn't deter from that, just makes it better. Love you Candice Accola.

Damon's blood bender. You know why I love this? (Other than the fact that Damon could do anything and I'd still think he was the hottest vampire alive/dead) Because he's trying to get through to Elena - he's NOT Stefan, and who would want him to be? We love Damon and his bad-ass attitude. Even if he becomes more 'human', I still want him to keep his vampire-ness. Otherwise - what's the point of having a show called 'The Vampire Diaries'. It'd have to be 'The Human Diaries' and that's infinitely more boring.

Sad moment.

Caroline and her dad at the end. One epic sad moment. Bill: "You're a vampire sweetheart. I don't think you'll ever be okay again." AH! My heart broke. Poor, poor Caroline. Thank goodness Mum's on the winning team.

A few of the vampire favourites.

In honour of the new TVD episode tomorrow night (or today, depending on which country you're in :P) I thought I would write about a couple of my favourite vampire movies, books and tv shows. I am always more than happy to delve into the fantasy realm, and I feel it my duty to expand my conversation topics in order to gain more readers.

So, without any further ado, here are a few of my favourite vampire-y things.

Books

• The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer: Yes, yes. I know what you must be thinking. Everybody loves Twilight.... or they hate it. I love it because I read it before it was a big deal - and I still remember one of my friends describing it to me and it sounded like the most complicated, beautiful thing I had ever heard of. And so it was - first time I read it, I was in Europe at the end of 2008. I could not put it down. And then I bought the next 3 while I was over there so I could complete the series, they were just THAT GOOD. I think the movies have slightly deterred from the beauty of the books, but hey - who doesn't love Robert Pattinson and Taylor Launter? :P I suppose they make the movies worthwhile :D

• The Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead: If you have never read them, and you are a die-hard vampire fan, then you SHOULD. Join Rose, Lissa and Dimitri as they battle sickly crazed Uncles, Strigoi (the darker form of vampire), and the Royals (along with their laws). There are 6 books in the series and well worth the read. While Richelle does repeat some details in each of the books as a reminder for those who have forgotten, or some background knowledge for those of us silly enough to read them in the wrong order, and this does become somewhat tiresome - you can easily skim through this. A minor fault on an otherwise intriguing series.

• The Vampire Diaries by L. J. Smith: Well duh. I love The Vampire Diaries as a TV show, as if I ain't gonna like the books. Ha. 'Nuff said.

• The True Blood series by Charlene Harris: Of COURSE True Blood was going in here :D I don't think you can call yourself a vampire fan if you don't read True Blood. Granted, they are somewhat of a soft-porn novel; there's so much sex and violence it makes your head spin. BUT it does have Eric and Sookie, and a whole heap of other random shit like fairies and angry ancient vampires etc. I might be weird but I find it 'light reading'. Haha. If you're a fan of the TV show but don't read the books then you're silly. The books are always better [welllll..... TVD I might make an exception :P).

• The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J. R. Ward: I have a confession to make. I haven't actually read this series. HOWEVER I was told by a very good friend of mine how fantastic it is, so that's why I'm putting it up here :) It follows the story of 6 vampire brothers and warriors who defend their race against some weird kind of humans. It is on my 'Books to read over the Summer' list :).

Movies

• Underworld, Underworld: Evolution and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans: Totally my top 3 vampire movies. I love how they jump back to the past to help fill in the raging battle in the future. And well, there's Kate Beckinsale. How can I say anything bad about her? She makes one sexy vampire.

• Interview with a Vampire: I have two words: Brad Pitt. I mean, I don't like him at the best of times, but in this movie? As a vampire? Yep, I would tap that. Really interesting movie too.

• Fright Night (1985) and Fright Night (2011): I love old school scary movies, and while 1985 isn't THAT old school, it still has the rockin' hair-dos and cheesy acting. But the 2011 version has it's perks too - Colin Farrel. He's delicious as a vampire too; and he makes a fabulous scary next-door-neighbour-type killer. On a whole the movie did remind me of When a Stranger Calls and Disturbia, it was still good to watch.

• Dracula (1931): Haven't seen it? GO. NOW. This is a classic cult film and you can't miss out. If you have - I don't even really want to speak to you. Just - watch it.

• 30 Days of Night: Umm. This movie was scary. Like, really, really scary. And it had a really sad ending, BUT it had Josh Hartnett so it's okay. (If you can't already tell, I LIKE my good-looking male actors. They play a big role in whether I watch a movie in the first place ha).

• The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Eclipse: I actually didn't like the first movie at all. I feel really bad for saying so - but other than Rob, Taylor and Cam Gigandet, there was nothing else appealing to me about it. They left out key scenes and rushed the romance between Edward and Bella so much that you hardly had time to appreciate the longing they had for each other in the book. Anyway! Now that I've justified why I didn't like the first movie, I'll say why I DID like the second and third :) New Moon was great because it was more Jacob! I am a raging Edward fan, but Jacob in New Moon is my favourite. He's such a sweetheart, despite the turning-into-a-werewolf/shape-shifter thing. One always cries like a baby when he 'breaks up' with Bella (it was even sadder in the book) and (though it isn't Jacob-related) when Harry Clearwater dies (omg, how cute was his little spiel about Kung-Fu?). And as for Eclipse, well, in my opinion the saga just keeps getting better. The new 'Victoria' (Bryce Dallas Howard) - loved her as a baddie. And who can resist the electrifying pull of a threesome? Bella: "No Edward, I need to be friends with Jacob". Edward: "Stay away from him Bella". Jacob: "Bella come visit me! I'm suicidal here!". Gosh I love it. • The Blade Trilogy: I'm not much of a Wesley Snipes fan, but I DID really like this trilogy. Not my usual type of vampire movie, but good nonetheless.

• Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Sarah Michelle Gellar in her pre-Ringer days. Gotta love it.

• Angel: I just like David Boreanaz, to be honest. I like the idea of Angel (fallen angel cursed with a soul, running around killing bad supernatural-ies all the while having a guilt-complex, much like our beloved Stefan). Yeah, it has it's moments.

• Supernatural: I know I know, it's not an ACTUAL vampire TV show. But c'mon, the episodes 1x20 "Dean Man's Blood"; 2x03 "Bloodlust"; 3x07 "Fresh Blood"; 4x05 "Monster Movie" (remember, the shape-shifter who loved old classic movies? Dracula?); and one of my personal favourites, 6x05 "Live Free or Twi-Hard". There's enough there to warrant a vampire-y category I reckon :D

It's a little bit of this, and a little bit of that. Dum dum dum dum.

Perhaps I have been indoors too much - so much so that I am starting to analyse my favourite TV shows down to the very last take...

It worries me.

Nevertheless, here I am, blogging about a few of them. Hesitant - BUT - still moving forward.

Now let's see, where to start.

Oh yes I know! With Gossip Girl (since I just finished watching the new episode and it's still as fresh as Manhattan in my mind)

Okay, let's start with the whole Blair-baby-who's-the-father debacle.

Seriously Gossip Girl? You had to follow the One Tree Hill route? Granted, Blair's not in school anymore, but far out - the baby story-line gets absolutely drilled into the ground. I was so epically happy at the end of last season, when you moved so skillfully into Dair-land, and then Chair-land, and then Lair-land. I was rather pleased, like a cat who has just eaten a mouse.

Now, however, I am like a cat who just found out the mouse he ate was actually a furball. I am ready to cough it up (no, I was not throwing in a subtle morning sickness hint. Though that is kinda funny now that I think about it lol).

And I think all of us know that is HAS to be Chuck's baby. Who else's is it going to be? They're going to pull apart the Lair romance, Blair and Chuck will realise they aren't ready to raise a baby together, and Dan will be there to comfort Blair and watch old classics in the loft.

In case you couldn't tell, I'm unimpressed. Writers - do something that will surprise me. Take us back to the old days, where Georgina rocking up preggers at Dan's apartment was the biggest shocker of the season. I MISS the old cliffhangers! Am I alone on this? Anyone agree?

But I will give credit where credit is due. Dan, for me, has become an incredibly adorable character. I didn't like him for the longest time, but now, I can get what the fuss is about. Lovely little mess of curly hair on his head too. Penn, you tasty man you.

And Serena. Oh, Serena. I love your little "finding yourself" adventures. I am beginning to love you as a character as well. I adore Blake Lively, I think she's the hottest woman under the sun (aside from Nina Dobrev, of course), and it's soothing to find her character calming down and settling into herself. Fabulous, just fabulous!

But.

I don't like Charlie/Ivy. What is UP with this girl? So she's an actor, right. And she acts in EVERY aspect of her life? Including at her job, with her boyfriend, who knows who or what else? Nope, didn't like you when you entered the show, don't like you now, still won't like you when you leave. Though I will definitely like when your character leaves. Bye bye now (imagine that in either Barbie voice from Toy Story "Bubye now, bubye!" or Shrek from Shrek 1 "See you laterr" - makes it funnier, right? :D)

Anyway!

Nate, Nate, Nate. What are you doing? He really likes his cougars doesn't he? But Elizabeth Hurley - totally don't blame him. What a FOX! I give the GG writers credit here - they do bring in the most SPECTACULAR guest stars (Charlie fake/Ivy not included). Georgina Sparks? Lady Gaga? Yeah, you know it. And THANK YOU writers for getting rid of (1) Vanessa; and (2) Jenny. Couldn't stand either of them, so glad they've bailed.

But all that being said, I actually really love Gossip Girl as a show. There's something delicious about the way all the characters interact, and while you might be fuming at one couple one day, the next you'll be in love with them all over again. It's just Gossip Girl, I've decided. And they have a majorly hot cast. So that's a bonus.

Moving on! To.....

.... Glee.

Glee. The very word makes me want to break out in a rendition of "Valerie". What an epic show. It truly gets funnier every episode. I'd like to give all the credit to Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, but I won't. Because I think the casting is what makes this show so incredible, and for that I have one name.

Jane Lynch.

Oh, this hilarious diamond in the rough. Where did you come from? The character Sue is possibly the most beautifully-developed character I've ever seen in a comedy. No joke. Her one-liners have me in stitches; the rants have me on the floor. My favourite of all favourite Sue quotes is when she says to a piece of broccoli:

"When I showed this to Brittany, she whimpered and thought I cut down a small tree where a family of gummy people lived."

Bloody brilliant. That, and any quote to do with Mr Schu's hair. So, so good.

Okay, now that that's out of the way, onto Season 3.

Firstly, loving the Rachel and Kurt friendship. Those two are as cute as buttons. And their little meltdown first episode after seeing the other 'Kurt' and 'Rachel' lookalikes? Was I the only one who grinned through that part? They were adorable! And I'm sad to think that their friendship might be ruined after tomorrow's episode. FAR OUT Rachel! Can't you just stay your beautiful, grownup self now? MUST you go backwards?

Apparently so.

Sigh.

Anyway, Finn is annoying me a little this season. Cory, it's not your fault, you're gorgeous, it's your stupid character that frustrates me. How does someone as wonderfully talented as yourself, not have ANY idea about where they're going after school? And frankly - I HATE the emphasis school puts on students knowing exactly what they want to do when they leave! There is NOTHING wrong with taking a year off to work full-time! NOTHING!

Phew. Easy Jayne, it's just a TV show.

Yes, I know. Let's move forward shall we?

Still love Artie and Brittany, Mike and Tina, Will and Emma.

But hold up. NO LAUREN ANYMORE!? WHY! WHY WHY WHY! I loved her! Her and Puck?! AWESOME. Yep, the show failed there.

Oh, and with the exit of Chord Overstreet, aka Sam. Not. Happy. Jayne.

Putting Mercedes with a large black man (sorry, not meaning to be racist, but c'mon? Stereotypical much?) not good either. They teased the Mercedes and Sam romance only to rip it away before it had even begun? Terrible, just terrible. I am trying to keep an open mind now, but it's getting a little hard.

I almost feel the blinkers come on in Glee now, so I see only the coupling and characters I want to see. Everyone else just exists, and are like little happy ghosts hovering everywhere. I know you're there, but I don't really care what you're up to.

That being said, I am intrigued by this new Quinn. She's crazy and I love it! Trying to get her baby back? Fo shiz! Go for it, I want to see how you plan to do this! Plus, I love Quinn as a bitch. Can't really see her in any other light, in all honesty.

And what's going on with Santana? That first ep left us in a loop as to what is happening with her hey?! Ah well, hopefully all questions will be answered soon.

Ok, I'm gonna finish up now. I really should have broken this into two blogs lol. Kudos to you if you made it to the end!! :D

The perks of menswear.

In honour of my first shift (in ages!) back in menswear, I am re-posting this blog from Caitlin's and mine to mine! (if that makes sense... )

So without further ado, ladies and gents, here are 5 reasons why working in menswear is such great fun.

(1) Besides being a great perving tool, being in menswear means you get to play dress-up with men as much as you like; whether they are old, young, married, single, gay, straight, whatever! (Though it's definitely more exciting when they're young and hot.. hmm)

(2) Men are SO decisive. Whenever I am stuck in ladies fashion, I literally want to smack my head into a wall. Women can NEVER decide what they want, and they will spend 40 minutes wasting your time trying on everything, only to decide they want nothing. Men, on the other hand, will walk in, ask for a shirt, you'll show them two and they won't even try them on - they'll just buy them. I LOVE IT.

(3) Men are not NEARLY as disgusting and dirty as women. Excluding little ferrets who come and pee in the fitting rooms (yes, they are just that grose), men are generally pretty tidy. They will gather all the packaging from business shirts and bring them up to your counter, or they will at least try and hang garments back on the hanger (even if it's backwards or sideways). Women, however, will take 20 items into the fitting room and leave them in a giant heap on the floor. They leave their used lingerie in the fitting rooms (I once had a woman who STOLE a pair of knickers and HUNG UP her old ones on a hanger, then PUT THEM ON A RACK). Yes, women can be seriously dirty. No, men are not that bad.

(4) When a man comes in asking me to outfit him for a night out, he will listen attentively to everything I tell him. He will try everything I suggest on (because, believe it or not, I do know a thing or two about the department I'm working in!), and more often than not, will trust my judgement and buy at least two of the five items I show him. Women though, will hum and har over anything I show them, and eventually tell me we don't have what they're looking for (I will say though, that in intimate apparel that is a different story - they are usually very happy to hear what I have to say lol).

(5) Lastly, men can be outrageously friendly. I love how all I have to do is ask them how their day has been, and suddenly it becomes a massive chat about the Broncos game on Friday. If I ask women (ESPECIALLY if I'm in childrenswear), it turns into a rant about how crappy service is here now, blah blah blah. As if I don't already know this. Women - stick a sock in it.

Now please, don't get me wrong. I do think women are amazing (I am one, of course!) and I do have respect for them. But honestly, men can be so much easier to deal with!

The best TVD episode ever... ?

At this stage? I'm willing to say so!

This week's two teaser trailers were only a taste of a ridiculously delectable 40 mins that had me sitting on the edge of my seat.

Like eating a packet of mint chocolate slices - the first bite sends you wild with desire, so, in turn, you have to devour the rest of the packet.

I had to physically stop myself from jumping around the living room, that's how great each moment in this episode was.

Thank you Caroline Dries for delivering a complex, beautifully-interwoven myriad of plots that caused me to laugh, cry, grin from ear-to-ear and exclaim in shock (mostly the latter!). I was truly blown away. Exquisite work - simply exquisite.

Now.

Let's move on to some spoil-erm, I mean, key moments :)

Alright, this has to be said first.

Hellooo debonair Stefan ;) Phew. I felt a bit hot under the collar when he sauntered into Gloria's bar after snacking on that woman in the (vintage [Crossley?]) car - love it (always reminds me of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, those cars).

Stefan, I think you are becoming more delicious in each episode this season too. Keep up the Rippah work (okay, okay, lame I know, I had to do it!)

From what I've seen of Paul Wesley's latest interviews, he's been enjoying playing the 'bad boy'. And so he should! He wears it very well - not to mention that SUIT (more suit-wearing Paul, methinks).

Ok, now, was anyone else highly impressed with the 1920s theme? The flappers, the lounge singer, the outfits?! May I just say, much like Nina Dobrev, I would LOVE to have lived in the 1920s. More era episodes please! Keep 'em coming I say!

I felt so sorry for Caroline in this episode. She always seems to be the victim. I hope she gets to kick some butt soon. But it must be said - Sheriff Forbes? How much her attitude has changed towards her daughter? So, so beautiful. I am so happy for that relationship! And as for her dad - I think he'll come around. All that protectiveness, it'll shape into acceptance soon. I hope.

And one cannot help but be mad about Tyler after this episode. Carrying Caroline? Snuggling her at the end while she cried? They are the picture perfect couple, and Michael Trevino - stop being so freaking gorgeous! I already have too much love for Damon, it can't be shared! It won't!

Ahem.

I have to say, there were so many 'baited breath' moments in this episode. C'mon, Klaus and Stefan in the apartment with Elena? Close call much? I have to say though, how did Klaus not sense Elena was there?! I'm happy he didn't, but Stefan's not the best liar. Hmm. Small thought.

But shocking moments! Stefan feeding that woman's blood to her husband? Stefan teaching Klaus his tricks? Stefan being bff's with Klaus? Klaus compelling Stefan to forget? Klaus compelling Stefan to REMEMBER? It was pretty much the episode of all episodes for Klefan! Like a tweet I made last week, Paul Wesley and Joseph Morgan can stay together for as long as they want. That pairing is my favourite. Also, when Rebekah stabbed Klaus I jumped sky-high, even though I knew it wouldn't kill him. Haha, oh this show.

Alright, moving on.

Oh, Elena. You and your little bubbles of hope. Poor thing, to have those hopes crushed into a million pieces by Ripper Stefan. It's okay though, your knight-in-shining-blood-lust Damon will be there to pick up the pieces. And he's amazing too.

Speaking of Damon...

"You're all road-trippy and grose." - my favourite Damon quote of this episode. Um, is anyone else falling as much in love with Damon as I am? Who IS this vampire? Risking his life just so Elena can see Stefan for a few minutes? I don't know how anyone wouldn't want to be with him! Elena - just friggin pick him. Move on. Capish?

Okay, phew. Breather. Now, my next comments have to do with one vampire only - Rebekah.

WHAT a gem. I LOVE her. Mysterious - check. Sexy - check. Original vampire sister - check. And in love with Stefan? - CHECK. Yes, I am all aboard the Stefan/Bex romance train. S-Bex? Stebekah? Stebex? Ideas anyone? Anyway, can't wait to see more of her. And more of the originals, as I have a feeling that is coming!

Now, OF COURSE I have to mention the vampire-hunters at the end! Katherine being included?! That woman is such a stalker! I am only presuming the man hunting Klaus is his dad - what does everyone else think? But I love how Katherine always pops up unexpectedly - she just can't stay out of the action. Petrova, yes, continue to play your games, we love them.

Can I just say, it was absolutely adorable when Stefan 'remembered' Klaus? And that look on Klaus' face? Gosh, I melted. What a bromance!

So after this episode, all I can think is, when will Klaus discover Elena has the necklace? That she's still ALIVE? Now will we see more originals? Will we have more episodes delving into the original's past? Or even some of the Lockwood and Forbes history? Because I can't help but feel there is A LOT of history there? And after all is said and done, will Stefan be able to come back, in light of Klaus' statement at the end? Elena is being a little naive though, thinking she'd be able to bring him back. Oh, so many questions!! I am intrigued. This show can't help itself, it keeps getting more interesting by day.

On a mini side note: I ADORED the fact Joseph Morgan did the little 'Previously on The Vampire Diaries' statement at the start - yum yum yum (for those of you who follow me on Twitter or have read my previous blogs, you'll know how much j'aime Joseph Morgan/Klaus. Let's keep him around please).

Only critique of this episode? Not enough sweet Delena moments! But I am sure they are to come ;)
